Pet Portrait FAQs
What size paintings do you do?
Paintings are either on A4 or A3 cartridge paper, ready for you to frame; or square deep edged canvas. I use acrylic paint and finish with a coat of clear varnish.
Do you work from my photographs?
I work from your photos; they need to be clear and sharp and capture your pet’s personality. The best photos are those taken in strong light as that helps to get a sparkle in their eye and show all the colours in the fur.
How long does it take?
The painting will take me a couple of weeks to complete as I paint around my full time job. I am happy to discuss a deadline with you or I can let you know when I can schedule your painting in to my diary.
Once I have ordered my pet portrait can I make any changes?
Sure, within reason! For example, I can change the background colour or make the fur colour darker. But I wouldn't want to change the composition once we have agreed it.
How and when do I pay?
I can take payment via banks transfer or PayPal. I'm happy to discuss a three-part payment plan if that suits. Payment is non-refundable and must be made in full before work starts.
Can I see the painting as it develops?
I will send you photos of the painting in progress and you can give me feedback and notes on minor changes. I will post progress shots on my Instagram page unless you request me not to.
Do I have to be local to Merstham to order a pet portrait?
Orders will be sent by Parcelforce Express 48. Postage and packaging charges apply. I can hand deliver, for free, within a 5 mile radius of Merstham.
Can I send you a photo of my dog?
Yes please, and will tell him that he is a good boy! Use the contact form and upload your photo!
